Mrs. Tyler wrote: "Hiram's first wife died and he married again, but only lived with her a short time, when he left her. He left no children. He died at the home of his niece, Edna Maltby Tyler.
I have heard that the Maltby family came from three brothers who came from France. My grandfather Jacob, was a very quaint old man. My parents took care of them."
